State Supreme Court judges have yet to make a decision on when the same-sex marriage question will appear on the ballot and that has the state’s election authorities anxiously awaiting word. The President of the Missouri Association of County Clerks and Election Authorities, Shelley Harvey of Audrain County, acknowledges the wait is frustrating, but she says it shouldn’t cause a hardship if a decision is made this week. Harvey says election authorities have sent their August ballots to the printers who have been instructed to hold up completion of the ballots until the court decides whether the same-sex question will be on the August or the November ballot.
