More tornadoes … hail … high winds … damage. Storms moving west to east have hit north Missouri especially hard. Brief tornadoes are reported to have been seen in the Trenton-Bethany-Grant City areas of northwest Missouri. Winds of 90 miles an hour and four-inch-diameter hailstones have been reported by the National Weather Service in the area. No injuries have been reported. Eastern Missouri got nailed a few hours later, particularly the Jefferson and Warren County areas. A tornado hit Jonesburg last night. Heavy rains and high waters have forced the State Transportation Department to close a temporary bridge on Highway 54 over a creek between Louisiana and Bowling Green. The temporary bridge has been used while a new bridge is being built, but the high waters have left the temporary bridge unstable. MoDOT hopes to have that stretch of road reopened later today.
