For the fourth straight year, the Central Missouri State baseball team finds itself in the NCAA Division-II College World Series. The Mules advanced on Wednesday with a 14-3 win over Bryant College of Rhode Island. CMSU pounded out 15 hits on Wednesday and took charge offensively by scoring in every inning but the fifth. Stephen Downey and John Eftink drove in three runs apiece for the Mules, while Eric Errante and Joe Strada each had two RBI’s. On the mound, Nick Denning—a Springfield native—went the distance for the complete-game win. Denning scattered seven hits and allowed three runs with four strikeouts and two walks in his final start as a Mule. He finished his career with a 22-3 mark. Central gets a rematch with Delta St., which handed them a 6-5 loss in 10 innings last Sunday. The Mules have advanced to the semifinals for the fourth straight season.
