The State Supreme Court judges will hear arguments Tuesday afternoon on when Missouri voters should face the question of whether a ban on same-sex marriage should be written into the state constitution. The Court has agreed to accept the appeal of the Attorney General of a state appellate court ruling. The Western District Court in Kansas City upheld a circuit court ruling that the Secretary of State did not have to comply with Governor Bob Holden’s request, because he hadn’t received the official resolution from the legislature. Secretary of State spokesman, Spence Jackson, notes the court also gave until Monday morning for the two sides to file more arguments. Legislative leaders want the issue on the November ballot. Governor Holden wants it on the August ballot. Each side accuses the other of playing politics. The Missourinet will provide live coverage of the arguments.
