Former St. Louis Federal Prosecutor Raymond Gruender has been confirmed for a position on the federal bench by the U-S Senate. He’s one of several nominees by President Bush whose confirmations had been blocked by Senate Democrats until a deal was worked out this week to allow 25 of those to come up for a vote on the Senate floor. The Senate has not taken a vote yet on State Supreme Court Judge Duane Benton’s nomination to the same court.
