A study by the Inter-American Development Bank says the average migrant worker in Missouri sends $325 home each month, about $2,300 a year. The bank says that’s $103-million a year sent back to their home countries by migrants working here. Missouri ranks 30th among the 37 states and the District of Columbia, where high numbers of migrants from Central America work. The bank says its study shows how dependent Latin American families are on their American relatives.
