The Royals suffered a sweep at the hands of the A’s at Kauffman Stadium this weekend, which included Sunday’s 6-2 loss. Kansas City had a 2-0 lead thanks Joe Randa’s first inning triple, which scored Desi Relaford and Ken Harvey. It stayed 2-0 until Bobby Crosby hit a solo home run off Brian Anderson in the fifth inning. In the seventh, Anderson ran into trouble by allowing three straight hits and giving up two runs, as Oakland took a 3-2 lead. Anderson was yanked for Jason Grimsley, who gave up a double to Mark McLemore, to make it 4-2. Oakland never trailed again. Anderson dropped to 1-5 and lost his fifth straight decision. At 11-24, the Royals have the second-worst record in baseball, behind the Devil Rays who are 10-26.
