An awareness effort is being launched on behalf of the 4-Million Americans – including 646,000 Missourians – who are living without health coverage. The group Cover The Uninsured is calling this Cover The Uninsured Week. Caroline Battles, one of the campaign’s Missouri organizers, says in order to deal with the problem, people must be made aware there is a problem and it’s a big one. The group is working to convince all businesses to offer health care coverage to employees, saying it will be good for the businesses and the state’s well-being in the long run. For now, the group is using its web site: www.CoverTheUninsuredWeek.org and a toll-free phone number: 888-538-4371 to help link the uninsured with providers who might be able to offer health care services at reduced cost.
