The nation’s best mom has been crowned in a weekend event in Branson. She’s Mary Ofchinick of McKinney, Texas. About 80,000 entries were filed after ads were run nationwide on television. A computer randomly eliminated 78,000 of them. The families of the others were asked to write essays which helped judges narrow the field to 50. Telephone interviews were done with 15 of them and the five finalists were in Branson this weekend.
