Blue Springs high school officials are looking into legal action against a parent who allegedly struck girls’ soccer coach Steve Bettlach. Joseph Soto, whose two daughters used to play on the team, is accused of punching Bettlach in the face. Soto’s daughters, who are a senior and freshman, quit the team after missing practices last Wednesday and Thursday. On Monday, Soto went to the school and spoke with Bettlach about letting them return to the team. That conversation preceded the alleged attack. Bettlach had to go to the hospital where he received twelve stitches to the inside and outside of his lip. He wasn’t able to make Blue Spring’s 4-1 victory over Oak Park Monday.
