The presence of the new Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit does not mean the Missouri Senior RX Program is going away anytime soon. Missourians can now sign up for the Medicare Prescription Drug Discount Card Benefit which goes into effect next month. But the Missouri SeniorRX Program will still provide many senior citizens with help paying for their drugs. Charisse Pappas with SeniorRX says the current benefit will remain until the Medicare plan is fully implemented in January of 2006. At that time SeniorRX will help cover the gap in the federal coverage. The donut hole is the gap in coverage between $2250 and $5100 in drug costs.
