The lawyer for a woman wanting the Ten Commandments taken off a school wall in Humansville says he wants out of the case. The judge says lawyer Steven Meier must continue representing Carrie Roat. Meier says he and Roat have “irreconcilable and substantial conflicts.” Roat has told the Springfield News-Leader she tried to fire Meier because he was trying to settle the suit against her wishes. Meier says that’s not true. Meier’s request to withdraw could be reconsidered by the judge.
