Stockholders of one of the nation’s best known makers of metal buildings have approved a $204-Million merger with a company from Australia. Butler Manufacturing Company, based in Kansas City, is being taken over by BlueScope Steel of Australia. Butler was formed in 1901 in Kansas City. About 500 of the company’s 4,300 employees work at the company headquarters there. It’s not known what will happen to them.
