Hannibal is rebuilding Tom Blankenship’s cabin. Tom Blankenship was the model Mark Twain used to create Huck Finn. The original Blankenship cabin was torn down in 1911. Photographs of it exist. A 19th century cabin near Frankford has been donated, dismantled, and will be rebuilt near Mark Twain’s home in downtown Hannibal. The curator of the Twain Museum says workers will make it look as much like the original Blankenship cabin as they can.
