No University of Missouri football players were chosen in yesterday’s draft, but there were some college football players in the Show-Me State whose names were called this weekend. Central Missouri St. linebacker Roderick Green was taken in the fifth round by the Ravens. In two seasons at CMSU, Green compiled 114 tackles and 13 sacks. Green is the highest draft pick to ever come out of Central Missouri State. Southeast Missouri State center Eugene Amano was taken in round seven by the Titans. Amano won the Rimington Award in 2003 as the best center in Division I-AA. It’s the second straight year that an Indian has been taken in the draft. Last year wide receiver Willie Ponder was taken by the Giants in the sixth round.
