Blues defenseman Chris Pronger is one of three candidates for the NHL’s Norris Trophy, which is given each season to the league’s best defenseman. After missing most of the 2002-2003 season while recovering from knee and wrist operations, Pronger put forth his best season since earning the MVP award in 2000. He scored 14 goals and tied a personal best with 40 assists. The other two candidates are Ottawa’s Zdeno Chara and New Jersey’s Scott Niedermayer.
