St. Louisan Cory Spinks defended his undisputed world welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Zab Judah Saturday night. Spinks was able to get the win, despite being knocked down in the 12th round. It was Spinks’ first title defense since becoming the world champion in December. He is the son of former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks and the nephew of Michael Spinks, who are also from the St. Louis area.
