Missouri’s Purchasing Managers Index reached its highest level since October of 1994 in March. The March PMI score for Missouri was 67.9, an increase from February’s score of 60.5 and well above the national average of 62.5. Any score above 50 is considered positive. This is Missouri’s 26th consecutive month with a score above that level. Economists consider the Purchasing Managers Index a key indicator of economic conditions. It measures such factors as new orders, production, inventories, prices, and employment.
