State and federal income tax returns must be filed by next Thursday. And, with less than a week to go, the State Revenue Department reports most of the 2.6-Million Missouri taxpayers who are expected to file have already done so. But the Department’s Jessica Robinson says about 800,000 taxpayers have yet to take care of business. Robinson says the vast majority of the returns received have been from people expecting refunds, and the state has written checks for more than a half-billion dollars to those taxpayers. About $63-Million in checks have been received from those who owe.
