DNA evidence has led to murder charges being filed in a Kansas City killing dating back to 1980. At that time, police saved skin tissue found under the fingernails of a 22-year-old Kansas City woman who had been bound, sexually assaulted, and strangled. The killer was never found. But police say they now have matched DNA from the skin tissue to that of a paroled rapist. 43-year-old Dawud Abdelmalik has been charged with the murder of Dorothy Fisher and he could get the death penalty if convicted. The Kansas City man is suspected in a series of other murders under investigation.
