Spring turkey hunting season is just around the corner. The youth season runs over Easter Weekend and the regular season starts about a week after that. Ralph Duren from Taos in Central Missouri is one of those hunters looking forward to hitting the woods. He’s also a two-time world champion turkey caller who uses his mouth and conventional calls to “speak” the language to draw in the gobblers. Duren says now is the time to scout out your hunting areas to find out where the turkeys roost and strut. The National Wild Turkey Federation rates Missouri as the best place in the country to hunt the birds.
