The State Senate has given final approval to legislation to help senior citizens with their prescription drug costs. The bill would close the co-called donut hole in coverage in the federal Medicare prescription drug benefit. It would create the Missouri Senior Prescription Drug Program under the State Health Department and would be available to those 65 years of age and older. This program would replace the Missouri SeniorRx program. The legislation has been sent to the House.
