The Drury women’s basketball team ended their fourth season with a loss in the NCAA Division II national championship. The Panthers fell to California University of Pennsylvania 75-72 in St. Joseph Saturday night. DU erased a 15-point deficit in the second half with a 19-2 run and even took a two-point lead with 7:07 to go. CU hit a three pointer with 30 seconds to go and it proved to be the winning field goal. The loss gave Drury a 36-2 record for the season. Senior Jill Curry, who was a part of Drury’s first recruiting class, finished with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Amanda Newton scored 17 points to lead Drury, while Kara Rutledge added 15.
