Midway through the first period, the Blues took a commanding lead over the Blackhawks and finished with a 3-1 win in Chicago. Keith Tkachuk, Petr Cajanek and Brian Savage scored during 7-minutes and 26 seconds worth of consecutive power play. More than half of that was with a two-man advantage. Chris Osgood then took over for the Blues, who took just 11 shots the rest of the way. Chicago, on the other hand took 35 more shots. Osgood finished with 36 saves. The win boosted the Blues’ point total to 87 and are tied for seventh place in the Western Conference standings with the Oilers. St. Louis can break that tie when they host Edmonton Tuesday night.
