Missouri Baptist bowed out at the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament in Kansas City Wednesday. They lost 73-68 to Wayland Baptist in their first round game. Missouri Baptist led 21-20, before Wayland went on an 11-1 run to give late in the first half. They never trailed again. Missouri Baptist got as close as 60-57 in the second half, but couldn’t contend with Wayland Baptist’s 65-percent shooting over the final 20 minutes. Four players finished in double figures for WBU—freshman Kendall Webb led the way with 18 points. Jason Kaplan led MBU–and all scorers- with 33 points and 14 rebounds. It was Missouri Baptist’s second NAIA Tournament appearance. They finished with a record of 26-7…..Columbia College will put its 32-3 record on the line tonight as they take on Oklahoma City, which comes into the game with a record of 18-11. CC is the seventh seed and Oklahoma City is unseeded.
