At the NCAA Wrestling championships in St. Louis, Oklahoma State won yet another title, while Mizzou finished 13th. It was the Cowboys’ second straight title and their 32nd overall. Three Tigers finished with All-American status. Red shirt freshman Ben Askren finished second in the 174-pound division. He lost his final match to Chris Pendleton of Oklahoma St. 11-4. It was Askren’s third loss to Pendleton this season. Senior Jeremy Spates ended his career by finishing 5th in the 149-pound division and fellow senior Kenny Burleson finished seventh in the 157. It’s the first time in the program’s 60-year history that three wrestlers earned All-American status in one season.
