In Kansas City, two teams made travel plans for the Sweet 16. In the early game at Kemper Arena, Oklahoma State crushed Memphis 70-53. The Cowboys shot an amazing 68 percent in the first half. In the nightcap, KU was able to hold off Pacific thanks to a 15-3 run in the second half to beat the Tigers 78-63. Wayne Simien had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Jayhawks to another Sweet 16. They’ll play UAB in St. Louis on Friday. The other Friday match up in St. Louis will feature Georgia Tech and Nevada.
