The season is over for the SMS Lady Bears. They were knocked out of the NCAA tournament with a 69-65 overtime loss to Notre Dame. The Lady Bears got down early, trailing 29-13 in the first half. But SMS held the Irish scoreless over the last nine minutes of the first half and cut the lead to 33-27. In the second half, they continued to whittle the lead. SMS even had a chance to win the game with a last-second shot. With 3.3 seconds to go and the score tied 59-59, Jenni Lingor wasn’t able to convert and the game went to overtime. In the extra period, Notre Dame ran away scoring the first six points. SMS finished the season with a record of 28-4…. On Saturday, Stanford ousted Mizzou 68-44. Mizzou trailed 35-24 after the first half and continued to struggle in the second half, shooting just 26 percent over the final 20 minutes. Stretch James had 20 points in her final game as a Tiger. Fellow senior Evan Unrau had 10 points and 10 rebounds. They were the only two Tigers to score more than five points on Saturday. Mizzou ended its season with a record of 17-13.
