Pavol Demitra wasn’t about to let something as insignificant as a dislocated finger get him down. Demitra hurt the digit in the second period of last night’s game with the Islanders. He immediately headed to the trainer’s room and had it popped back into place and never missed a shift. Good for the Blues. Demitra gave St. Louis a 3-2 win over New York with a goal in overtime. It was his 21st goal of the season. It was the Blues third straight win and extended their unbeaten streak to four games. Keith Tkachuk scored for the 28th time this season with a goal in the second period to give the Blues a 1-0 lead. Alexander Khavanov scored at the 5:59 mark of the third on a power play to tie the game at two. Chris Osgood was in goal and stopped 22-of-24 shots to get his 24th win of the season. St. Louis is still tied with L.A. for the eighth spot in the Western Conference, but moved to within one game of second-place Nashville.
