Missouri students who think they’ll need financial assistance to attend college next year are getting the word from the State Department of Higher Education that time is running out to apply for state aid. Higher Education Commissioner Quentin Wilson says The Legislature has approved about $40-Million in such aid for the coming year, but applications for aid must be filed within the next few weeks to make sure they are received by April 1st. The form that must be completed is called the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA form. It’s the same document required for both federal and state aid. It can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or by calling the Department of Higher Education at 1-800-473-6757.
