Governor Bob Holden has announced a new highway commissioner to replace former Chairman Ollie Gates, who resigned in December. Holden is appointing the Reverand Wallace Hartsfield of the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City. Hartsfield will still need to be confirmed by the State Senate before taking his seat on the six-member commission.
