The Blues winless streak is at six games after their 4-2 loss to Calgary. Controversy appeared in the form of a non-call in the third period when Ville Nieminen of the Flames hit Chris Osgood behind the net, but no whistle blew. Steven Rheinprecht scored easily to tie the game at 1-1. Less than a minute later Jerome Iginla scored to make it 2-1, Calgary. Pavol Demitra tied it for the Blues with a power play goal at the 5:10 mark, but Iginla struck again one minute and 40 seconds later to give the Flames the lead for good. St. Louis continues to flirt with its first absence from the post season in 24 years. They are four points out of the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot with 17 games to go. They host the Oilers on Thursday.
