William Jewell College (Liberty, Mo), which is ranked 5th in the NAIA Division II standings, won the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament yesterday with a 71-64 victory over Evangel University (Springfield, Mo) in the championship game. The Cardinals have a record of 31-4 and had already clinched a spot in the NAIA Division II National Tournament, which gets underway next week at Point Lookout, Missouri. It was their first conference title since 1998.
