The SMS Lady Bears lost dropped a road contest to Indiana St on Sunday 58-56. The offense dried up when the Lady Bears needed it most. During a crucial four-minute stretch late in the second half, SMS was held scoreless. During that snap, SMS missed six straight three pointers. Keri Koch was one of two Lady Bears to score more than 10 points—she had 13 points while K.C. Cowgill added 12. The news wasn’t all bad for SMS, thanks to Drake. The team that ended their 18-game winning streak on February 13 knocked off Creighton 55-51 in Des Moines. SMS is 15-2 in conference play with one more regular season game to go and Creighton in 13-3 with two more remaining. SMS, however, did clinch the top seed in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament next week. The Lady Bears are 24-3 on the season.
