Money has been raised so the Mountain Grove School District can avoid eliminating school sports in the wake of a levy increase failure. The school board had announced it would have to cut $1-Million to $1.5-Million from the budget if the 75 cent levy failed. It lost badly, earlier this month. Since then, area businessman Jim Wehr has given school officials a personal check to pay for sports for the next year. Superintendent Mark Porter says money is still needed for academics.
