The Blues won their third straight game with a 4-3 overtime victory against the Lightning. Ruslan Fedotenko got Tampa Bay on the board in the first period and St. Louis retaliated with a goal from Christian Backman at the 3:45 mark of the second period. Former Blue Cory Stillman gave the Lightning the lead back about 10 minutes later to make it 2-1. In the third period, Eric Boguniecki and Bryce Salvador scored on goals assisted by Dallas Drake to push the Blues back in front 3-2. But Chris Osgood gave up a goal to Pavel Kubina 1:13 later to tie it up. In overtime, Doug Weight was the hero, scoring at the 1:06 mark of the extra period to give the Blues the win. Drake finished with three goals. With the win St. Louis moved past Nashville and Los Angeles, in the Western Conference standings and are tied with Dallas for sixth place. They’re in Detroit tonight.
