Saint Louis University hasn’t been particularly fond of their meetings with Marquette lately. Losing seven straight to any one school will do that. Last night the Billikens ended the frustration with a 58-54 win. Things started slowly, though, as the Golden Eagles jumped out to a 12-2 lead, but Saint Louis persevered and trailed 29-25 at the half. To start the second half, the Billikens jumped out on an 8-0 run and took a 33-29 lead, but Marquette responded with a 7-0 run to go ahead 36-33. The Golden Eagles expanded the lead to six points and the game went back and forth. Sophomore Anthony Drejaj hit a three pointer late in the game to put Saint Louis on top 53-51 and they never trailed again. SLU improved to 13-9 overall and 6-5 in Conference USA.
