After losing to Drake on Friday—and having their 17-game winning streak snapped in the process—the SMS Lady Bears bounced back with a huge 71-65 win over Creighton Sunday afternoon. That broke the tie atop the Missouri Valley Conference, giving the Lady Bears a one-game lead over the Bluejays. SMS, which is ranked 23rd in the nation, turned on the thrusters midway through the first half with a 19-0 run. They led 36-21 at the half and seemed to have the game in hand, but Creighton eventually tied the core at 53 with 8:11 to go in the game. SMS roared back again with 9-2 spurt and never trailed again. The Lady Bears are 20-2 overall and 12-1 in the MVC. Jenni Lingor had 23 points and nine rebounds in the win.
