The Blues had chances, but couldn’t take advantage of them in a 4-0 loss to the Avalanche in St. Louis. They out-shot Colorado 29-24, but failed to take advantage of four power play opportunities, while two of the Avalanche’s goals came off the man-advantage. Peter Forsberg and Alex Tanguay were the most effective for Colorado on Thursday–both scored and assisted the other. Forsberg got things going early for the Avalanche, scoring at the 3:42 mark of the first period. Derek Morris and Tanguay scored in the second period and Steve Konowalchuk made it 4-0 in the third. The win extended Colorado’s point streak to eleven games. The Blues play over the last eleven has yielded just one victory. They have just six wins in their last 27 contests. St. Louis hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
