The U.S. Senate has approved a $318-Billion Federal Highway Bill that will pay for roads and other transportation projects over the next six years. Part of this bill allows for the sale of $15-Billion in bonds to pay for infrastructure. It’s a proposal sponsored by Senator Jim Talent. He says he couldn’t get the $56-Billion bonding package he wanted but this is a good start. It’s unclear, at this stage, how much of the $318-Billion Missouri would stand to receive. The Senate version must still be reconciled with the House version before it can be sent to the President.
