State transportation officials are anxiously awaiting what the federal government will do with the Highway Bill still pending Senator Christopher Bond hopes Congress will be able to finalize the federal highway bill that could end up giving Missouri $1.5-Billion in federal highway money over the next six years. He hopes Senators have reached a happy median on the amount in the bill. Bond says if his proposal goes through, Missouri could see the nearly$1.5-Billion over the next six years. That’s good news to state transportation officials who have had to delay releasing the five-year statewide transportationimprovement plan, or STIP, until they know what they’ll get from Congress.
