The Missouri Democratic Party is pleased that it has played its role in selecting a candidate to face President Bush in November. Party Chair May Scheve says it was good to see such enthusiasm on the part of Democrats who voted for the eventual winner – Massachusetts Senator John Kerry – and the other contenders in the race. It had been predicted that only about a quarter of those eligible to vote would show up to cast ballots. Scheve says cold and icy weather might have kept a lot of voters at home.
