State Senate Leader Peter Kinder of Cape Girardeau will soon end the speculation and make the announcement that he’s running for Lieutenant Governor. Republican Party sources tell the Missourinet that Kinder will make the official announcement tomorrow afternoon in Jefferson City. Former Secretary of State Bekki Cook has announced she’s running for the Democratic Party nomination for Lieutenant Governor. She’s expected to be challenged by Senate Minority Leader Ken Jacob of Columbia.
