Kansas City will likely provide health care coverage to the domestic partners of city employees, both heterosexual and homosexual. The City Council’s Budget and Audit Committee has approved contracts with health and dental care providers that not only covers married employees and their spouses and dependants, but also unmarried city employees living with someone. The full Council votes Thursday. If approved, the contracts go into effect the first of May.
