On the eve of Missouri’s presidential primary, the candidates are courting Show-Me State voters. The candidates who had once written off Missouri to St. LouisCongressman Richard Gephardt had to scramble once Gephardt dropped out. And, they’ve been trying to make sure they visit Missouri. David Kimball, an assistant professorof political science at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, says these visits – no matter how short – are important because of the local media coverage they bring. And, that coverage is valuable. Of the seven states holding primaries or caucuses tomorrow, Missouri is the big prize with 88 delegates – 74 being chosen by voters.
