Legislative Republicans are making it clear they’re not at all happy with the criticism directed at them by Governor Bob Holden during his State of the State Address. House Speaker Catherine Hanaway of Warson Woods particularly didn’t like the Governor’s claim that Republicans were withholding money from public schools. Hanaway points to documents which show the Legislature appropriated more money for public schools in the 2004 Fiscal Year than it did in Fiscal Year 2004. She says it was Gvoernor Holden who opted to withhold some of the money.

House Speaker Catherine Hanaway, Senate President Pro Tem Peter Kinder and Representative Rod Jetton (R-Marble Hill) spoke at a news conference following Governor Holden’s State of the State Address. [Note: Some of the questions were off-mic and difficult to hear.]
