An activist in the priest-abuse scandal calls on the Jefferson City Catholic Diocese to disclose the names of six priests suspected of molesting children. St. Louis resident David Clohessy is the national leader of SNAP, The Survivors Network of those Abuse by Priests. He visited Jefferson City to make his request. Clohessy wants their names released, arguing that the public has a right to know who the Jefferson City diocese considers unfit to serve as priests. He argues the churches within the Diocese have a right to know, as do the communities in which these former priests have relocated. The Diocese has issued a statement saying it has zero tolerance for child abuse and has removed from active ministry those found guilty and that they are not reassigned. It states legal consideration keep it from releasing the name of the six former priests.
