Employees of one of the largest state agencies have indicated they have a lot of pride in the work they do, but very low overall morale. Transportation Department employees are seeing the results of a much-anticipated employee satisfaction survey they took. Pam Franta with Behavioral Health Concepts – the consulting group paid $23,000 to conduct the survey – says the employees say they are invested in the department doing well. But, employees have low morale and don’t feel respected in their community for the work they do. Franta encourages MoDOT officials to keep talking to their employees to fix the morale issues that the survey indicates plagues the Department. The Transportation Department’s Human Resources Director says the Department is already forming focus groups to come up with a solution.
