The first full week of this legislative session sees the House approve an identity theft bill. House Speaker Catherine Hanaway calls approval a major step forwardin protecting the identities of Missourians from those who would access financial records through the stealing of personal information. And, Hanaway says House membersimproved the bill by adding amendments during debate earlier in the week. The bill would stiffen the penalties for taking someone’s personal information to steal fromthem. The bill now moves to the Senate.
