Missouri Senior RX Prescription Drug Program To Remain

Missouri’s Senior RX Program, which offers discounts on prescription drugs for senior citizens, will remain – even though the federal Medicare drug prescription drug benefit has been approved. The Legislature will be asked to approve a proposal to have the Senior RX Program fill the so-called donut hole which sees senior citizens with drug bills between $2,250 and $5,000 left covering their own costs. Governor Bob Holden says start up administrative costs to put the federal and state programs together should come to about $30-Million.
